The At Risk Youth Committee works to increase understanding of the legal needs particular to GLBTQ at risk youth.  The committee meets monthly to coordinate its efforts and plan events.  For questions or to volunteer, please e-mail Michael Heath at

LGBTQ Youth Leaving Foster Care Need Your Help

The QLaw At Risk Youth Project is seeking volunteers to participate in a new pro bono program providing legal assistance to youth who are leaving foster care.  A disproportionate number of these youth are LGBTQ.  Training materials and mentoring/assistance are available to lawyers interested in pro bono representation of youth through this program. 

 

The Center for Children & Youth Justice, the ABA Bar-Youth Empowerment Program and Perkins Coie LLP launched the Lawyers Fostering Independence Program with a CLE on November 20th.  If you missed the opening CLE, you are still welcome to participate in the program.  Please email Michael Heath at  for details.
