Thanks to the work of many community members and organizations in Washington, including the QLaw Association's own President Elect Dana Savage, Washington's insurance commissioner has adopted a rule to improve access to gender-affirming healthcare in Washington state via Washington's Gender Affirming Treatment Act. In the words of our insurance commissioner, "gender-affirming treatment saves lives." The QLaw Association is proud to have been a part of this legislation. The QLaw Judicial Evaluation Committee exists to ensure that judicial candidates are aware of and consider the issues important to the LGBT community.
We are a statewide organization and encourage all judicial candidates who desire a rating to contact us to schedule an interview. Our ratings are available to the public to educate voters about the candidates.
